Alejandra Elizabeth Castilla, a beautiful soul, makeup artist, and fashionista who loved to dance and make others laugh, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, December 18, 2022, surrounded by her dear parents.Alejandra passed away battling a long illness and of a broken heart for she longed and hoped to see her two younger sons whom she loved and prayed for them incessantly. Alejandra, a loving mother, sister, daughter, granddaughter, cousin, niece, and friend will be dearly missed by all who loved her and knew her bubbly personality. Her mother was considered her angel on earth and her family was everything to her. She enjoyed every opportunity to get together with all of her cousins and friends during many family gatherings. She was a jokester and a free spirit, who loved life and enjoyed going to “maquinitas” with her mother Doris, her brother “Chon” and son “Tito” or her many “tias” and cousins.She was born on November 16, 1979, in Laredo, Texas, and was preceded in death by her younger brother Alvaro “Chon” Castilla, paternal grandparents Gilberto and Elvira Castilla, maternal grandmother Benita Valle de Obregon, and cousin Annabel Barrientos.Left to cherish Alejandra’s memory are her parents Alvaro and Adoracion Castilla, her three sons, Jorge “Tito” Alberto Diaz, Jessie James, and Emiliano Marchan, her two nieces and nephew, Andrea, Benita, and Alvaro “Chubby” Castilla, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors, and many close friends who loved her and will forever miss her.Alejandra graduated from Martin High School and from there she went on to pursue a career as a hairdresser and makeup artist. She was the ultimate fashionista who at times did part-time modeling gigs for various magazines.The loves of her life were her three children whom she loved and yearned to see one last time. Alejandra was very appreciative of her mother for her care and compassion; cousins, and aunts who cared for her during her courageous battle with her illness. She was also grateful to all the doctors and nurses who cared for her at University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, as well as doctors and nurses at Laredo Medical Center Emergency Room and ICU unit, and lastly, to Serenity Hospice who provided all medical care and equipment for her hospice care at home during her last days and hours.“Alex” we will forever love you and miss you and may you Rest in Eternal Peace until we see you again.”Visitation will be held Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, TX 78041. A prayer service will be held at 12:00 p.m. provided by family members and Pastor Patiño.Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
