Mrs. Esther H. Bernal, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the age of 88 surrounded by her loving family. She loved gardening, cooking, and had a special fondness for eating out at Denny's Restaurant. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband Justino Bernal Sr., daughter Rosa Bernal, and her sister Elisa Zamora.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Maria Esther (Jason) Cuveilje, Justino Bernal Jr., Alicia (Robert) Swathwood, Rebecca Bernal, Ricardo (Christie) Bernal, Margarita Bernal, Ramiro (Juanita) Bernal, and Ruben (Cora) Bernal. She is also survived by  her brother Julian Castillo, sisters Julia Saenz, Manuelita (Robert) Macias, 22 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 2, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, TX 78041. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Inurnment will be held at a later date.
