Gomez, Jr., 77, passed away peacefully in his sleep with family by his side on Thursday, September 22, 2022.  Jose was born on July 23, 1945, to (†) Jose A. and (†) Julia Gomez.He prioritized his children above everything else in his life and always maintained an amazing relationship throughout their adulthood.  He loved the outdoors, enjoyed ranching, and was especially fond of rescue pets.He will be greatly missed by those around him and his close relatives, and his furry friend, CC.He is preceded in death by his parents Jose Sr. and Julia Gomez, and his brother Luis Gomez.Mr. Gomez is survived by his children San Juanita Gomez (George Hachar), Jose (Sandra) Gomez III, Anthony (Norma) Gomez, Adrianne Owen, and Lorraine (Martin) Gomez.  He is also survived by his brothers and sister Raul (San Juanita) Gomez, Hector (Carmen) Gomez, Irma (Arturo) Hilario, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.Pallbearers will be Luis Gomez, Jr., Ramiro Gomez, Juan Tello Alfaro, Justin Perez, Steven Hernandez, Joseph Gomez, Matthew Gomez, and Oscar Benavides.Family wishes to thank San Antonio physicians, nurses and staff of Methodist Transplant and Specialty Hospital, Methodist Hospital Adult Cardiac ICU, Life Care Rehabilitation Center, and Warm Springs Physical Therapy Center.  Couldn’t have been possible without Crystal City’s First Responders and Laredo Altus Hospice.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, TX 78041. A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m.Interment will follow at the family plot in the Laredo City Cemetery.
