Joseph “Joey” Vela

Our lord and savior welcomed Joseph Vela into eternal Paradise on Sunday, November 22, 2020. Joseph, 51, was born in Dallas, TX and was a long-life resident of Laredo, Tx. Joseph was a loving brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was a man whom always brought laughter and joy. He was a Good Guy, a people person and would make conversation with anyone. He was a loving and caring person.He will be deeply missed and will always be in our hearts and memories and will never be forgotten by his family and friends. May you rest in peace with the rest of your loved ones in heaven.He is preceded in death by his mother Maria Antonieta Vela, his father Jose Tito “Jumbo” Vela Jr., brother Ruben Vela, maternal grandmother Estela Cruz, paternal grandfather Roberto Cruz, paternal grandmother Filomena Ponce Vela, paternal grandfather Jose Tito Vela and many loved relatives.Joseph is survived by his brothers Roberto Vela, John Vela, and sisters Annette Vela and Joann (Arthur) Moore. He is also survived by niece, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins, and many good friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 4, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, TX 78041. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.A chapel service will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, TX 78041.Interment will be held at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.In accordance with CDC safety precautions, we ask everyone attending funeral services to wear a mask and practice social distancing. There will be limited seating for services. For everyone’s safety please honor the family from a distance.
