Juan Jose Garza, 80, beloved brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend gained his heavenly wings on Friday, April 18, 2025, in Laredo, Texas. He was a very humble and kind man. His favorite quote was “One day at a time”. Juan Jose served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1969. He was honorably discharged with a rank of E4. He was assigned to the U.S.S. Independence Carrier Ship where he served in the Viet-Nam Conflict. He sailed the seas and crossed the equator several times and was awarded with a Shellback distinction. Among the seaports he visited were the Philippines, Tokyo, Japan, Spain, and other countries. Juan Jose loved photography and opened his own business known as Aztex Photo for 30 years. Juan Jose was the oldest of eight brothers. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jose H. Garza and Ma. Aurora Castañeda, and his niece Shelby Caroline Garza.
Juan Jose is survived by his brothers Luis (Diamantina) Garza, Mario (Maria) Garza, Raul Garza, Servando (Esperanza) Garza, and Gabriel Garza. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Martina (+Ezequiel) Garza, Maria (+Francisco) Garza, stepmother Maria Garza, stepbrothers Francisco (Gehrri) Garza, Jose (Sandra) Garza, stepsisters Maria Teresa Garza, Rosa (Phillip) Rodriguez, numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to Nurses on Wheels, Las Alturas Nursing and Transitional Care, his provider Ms. Wendy Bello for the love and care they provided to their brother Juan Jose during his time of need.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, Texas 78041. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 28, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. from Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium to San Luis Rey Catholic Church for a Holy Mass at 9:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at the family plot in the Laredo City Cemetery.
