Luis Ortiz

Mr. Luis Ortiz passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his side on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the age of 82 in Laredo, Texas. Mr. Ortiz worked for 38 years in the commercial transportation industry, including terminal manager for several companies. He was known for his strong work ethic and efficiency in all his endeavors. Mr. Ortiz was an avid fisherman, hunter and had a passion for the culinary arts including a catering business. He was a fan of the NFL and MLB. He will be dearly missed by all his family who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leonel Ortiz, Sr., and Emilia I. Ortiz, and his brothers Leonel Ortiz Jr., and Roberto C. Ortiz.

Mr. Ortiz is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years of marriage Maria de Jesus Ortiz, children Luis (Elsa) Ortiz Jr., Ernie Ortiz, Hector Ortiz, Celina Marie Ortiz, and Alfredo Alfonso Ortiz. He is also survived by his grandchildren Louie III, Charles Aaron, and Hector Jr. Ortiz, great-grandchildren Amber Alexandra, Amber Rose and Luis IV Ortiz, and numerous other relatives.
