Ms. Maria Elena Gonzalez passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the age of 55 in Laredo, Texas. Her family knew her as Nana. She loved to play loteria, have a good time with her family and travel to the casinos. Nana was like a 2nd mother to many, especially her nieces and nephews. She loved to play fight with her grandnephews and grandnieces, like not sharing her gum and candy, and would pretend to spank them. She couldn’t live without her Diet Coke and loved to dance like “Shakira.”
She was preceded in death by her brother Martin G. Gonzalez.
Ms. Gonzalez is survived by her parents Teofilo and Juanita Gonzalez, brothers and sisters Jose Alfredo (Teresa) Gonzalez, Isabel (Oscar) Liendo, Raquel Gonzalez, Maricela (Ivan) Gonzalez, and Monica Gonzalez. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, TX 78041. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. from Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church for a Holy Mass at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
