Roberto G. Lopez, 89, entered peacefully into eternal rest on April 28, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.He was born in Nuevo Leon and in the early 50’s moved to the U.S. to seek a better life for his family. He proudly served his country during the Korean War. After his military service he moved his family to Corpus Christi, TX, Wisconsin, California and settled back in Texas where he worked for many years at Lackland AFB commuting every weekend from San Antonio to Laredo. Dad was a diligent worker and he taught us to work hard and do our best.He is preceded in death by his parents Otila and Regino Lopez, brother Adolfo Garcia Lopez, sons Ricardo “Richard” Lopez and Adolfo S. Lopez. Mr. Lopez is survived by his loving wife of 70 years of marriage Maria S. Lopez, children Blanca Griessel (Robert), Roberto Lopez (Susie), Patricia Rodriguez (Ricky), Angel Lopez (Danette), Valerie Treviño (Hugo), grandchildren Monique Lopez (Tony) of California, Darlene Rogers (Justin), Bryant Griessel, Monica Bondoc (Freddy), Ricky Rodriguez, Selina Rodriguez, Ricardo Lopez (Claudia) and Elaine Lopez of California. He is also survived by 22 great grandchildren Trey, Anyssa and Alejandro Villafranca, Jamie and Lexy of California, Nichole, Angel Jr., Zach and Mark Lopez, Freddy and Alex Bondoc, Terry, Hailey and Alejandra Rodriguez, Jayden Alonzo, Marcos, Brandon and Phoebe Treviño, Kassandra Torres, Grettel, Ricardito and Emilio Lopez, brother Eleazar Lopez and his daughter-in-law Dora Lopez and numerous other relatives.The family would like to give their utmost sincere gratitude to Altus Hospice Care, Dr. Benson Huang, Dr. Arturo Garza-Gongora and their staff for all the years of care given to Mr. Lopez during his time of need.Visitation will be held Saturday, May 2, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Aguero Funeral Home and Crematorium, 4402 E. Saunders St., Laredo, Texas. Military honors will be held at 5 p.m. with a prayer service following at 7 p.m.Inurnment will be held at a later date.
