Victor Hugo “Cook” Romero

Victor Hugo Romero, beloved father, son and brother passed away on Wednesday July 8, 2020 at the age of 39. “Cook” as he was affectionately known, was a dedicated employee with Cricket Communications for over 10 years. He was an avid Patriots fan and a fanatic of all types of fast and furious sports cars. Victor was also a local and regional wrestler and promoter for many years. As a Promoter for Renegades of Wrestling “R.O.W.”, he gave the opportunity to local and regional talent to pursue their dreams of becoming wrestlers. He traveled across Texas promoting and practicing his beloved sport and was known in the ring as “Southside.”Victor was preceded in death by his father Victor Hugo Romero.He is survived by his children Victor Hugo, Noe Anibal and Victoria Joyce, his mother Irma Mendez, brothers, Juan Manuel and Luis Edgar (Alma) Mendez and sister Cynthia Janette Romero (Shahid Sabjaali). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 12, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Aguero Funeral Home, 4402 E. Saunders, Laredo, TX 78041. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.Funeral services and inurnment will be held private at a later date.The family kindly asks all those wishing to express their condolences in person, to maintain a safe personal distance from the family and those in attendance.
